Production

Richard Kane produces, photographs, directs and edits films on the arts as well as science and technology. Currently touring the country is his film "M.C. RICHARDS: The Fire Within" which is receiving exceptional reviews (see www.MCRichardsFilms.com). Also of note was his video "TECHNOLOGY: Renewing the American Dream", projected wide screen by White House and Commerce Department officials at Town Hall meetings throughout the country. Produced, directed and written by Richard Kane, the film is narrated by former President Bill Clinton.

In 1998 Richard completed a series of eight video portraits of third world recipients of micro loans for wide screen projection at the Microcredit Summit and the Women’s Center Annual Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. and for a similar conference at the United Nations. Five of these portraits were winners of the Cine Golden Eagle.

Since 1988 Richard has produced seventeen videos for the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, (the most recent in 2001) presented to U.S. CEOs by Presidents Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush. These videos feature interviews by Richard with America's most prominent CEOs and presidents. Richard also wrote the keynote address in 2001 for Los Alamos National Bank Chairman Bill Enloe, (a 2001 Baldrige Award winner) for two major conferences on Quality in business.

Richard is a first prize winner of the Telly Awards for a Jamaican resort marketing film and first prize winner at the Cork International Film Festival for his WETA-broadcast documentary, "Tough, Pretty or Smart", a portrait of an Indiana old-time string band whose lives as coal miners and dreamers propels the film to a poignant microcosm of American life. The film went on to compete for an Academy Award.
